COMPOSITE PACKAGING STRUCTURE AND PRODUCTION PROCESS

Composite packaging is one of the most popular types of packaging used in many different fields. The convenience and quality assurance of the product inside, along with the low cost, make this type of packaging increasingly popular. So what is this type of packaging, and how is the structure? The content of the following article will be covered stay tuned.
1. What is composite packaging?
Composite film is a type of film made up of many layers of different materials with different properties and functions, such as paper, aluminum, PE, PP, etc. The formation of the lamination is the ive combination of the starting material films with adhesives, printing inks, coating materials, etc.
Depending on the intended use of the packaging and the products contained inside, the manufacturer will combine different types of materials to produce a final product with multiple layers of film. This layer of packaging reduces the disadvantages while increasing the advantages of single material layers to meet the requirements.
With only one sheet of material, it can still provide all the properties such as moisture, hardness, air resistance, good weldability, ease of fabrication, and good printing properties. Composite packaging is widely used as packaging for plant protection products, fertilizer packaging, food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, etc.
Technically, composite materials are applied regularly, fully achieving the technical requirements as well as convenience and economy. They are very suitable for each type of separate packaging, ensuring product quality inside the packaging along with low cost.

2. The structure of composite packaging

Composite packaging usually uses a lot of structural layers, both to perform basic functions and to bring about high efficiency. Different polymers will be used depending on their role, for example, bonding layer, structural layer, welding layer, and barrier layer, specifically as follows:
- Structural layer: The role is to ensure the necessary mechanical properties, such as very easy printing properties and good moisture resistance.
Bonding Layers: Layers of thermoplastic adhesives are used to combine different types of plate materials.
- Barrier layers: using materials such as PET, PA, AL, MCPP, and MPET to ensure special requirements such as odor retention and air resistance
- Layers of welding materials: materials used are PE with an LLDPE mixture.

3. The manufacturing process

The process to produce composite packaging includes 5 steps:
+ Step 1: Prepare membrane to serve the production of composite membrane bags. The main types of laminated films used are PA, MPET, OPP, PE, PET, AL. These materials will be fed into the printer and cut to achieve the correct size according to the manufacturer's print requirements.
+ Step 2: The film layers, after being ed and cut out above, will be put into the printer in this second step.
+ Step 3: The film layers are put into the hot laminator for the purpose of forming a complex film.
+ Step 4: After hot splicing, this composite film will be divided into rolls one by one, then start cutting to fit the required product.
+ Step 5: Conduct re-inspection then pack and store. In this step, the inspection department will perform a very strict and close inspection of the composite packaging product that has just been produced, the purpose is to ensure the standards set by the customer. When fully inspected, the film is packed very carefully and then put into storage.
